Svätopluk Mikyta's (1973) work is concentrated for a long time primarily in three media areas - autonomous drawing, drawing comments of found images, printmaking, and their expansions in the medium of a museum-type installation. He is the laureate of the Oskár Čepan Award for 2008, the initiator of the civic association Štokovec, and the cultural platform Banská St a nica Contemporary in Banská Štiavnica.

The uniqueness of his work lies in several phenomena, while the archeology of the aesthetics of the modern history of Slovakia in the European contexts of the 20th century and the mapping of the traces of its cultural transformation and of course the thematization of collective memory come to the fore. Kristína Mesáros (1981) belongs to an outstanding generation of painters who entered the scene of contemporary visual art in the last ten years. A graduate of the Studio of printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (V. Kolenčík), she discovered painting as her main means of expression during her studies. In her work, she prefers imaginative subjects conditioned by her own personal experiences. Kristína finds inspiration and often concrete images in exotic places in faraway countries, borrows them from historical photographs, or hunts for them with her camera in the banalities of the surrounding world. The constantly explored human-landscape relationship refers to the traditional positions of illustrative or symbolic painting. Meaningful minimalism, however, obscures the stories told, and the seemingly stable poetics of the scenes are always disturbed by inconspicuous subversive moments. (Diana Majdáková)

c) - Evaluation of the study programme quality by employers (feedback).

Feedback from the employer is irrelevant, since graduates of the bachelor's degree are in practice self-employed, they establish their own studios, or work on contract with publishing houses and galleries, or other institutions, or advertising and media companies. Representatives of gallery institutions are part of the AFAD Accreditation Board.

4. - Structure and content of the study programme
a) - The institution describes the rules for the design of study plans within the study programme.

The study plan of the study programme is developed by a team of responsible teachers of the study programme on the basis of group working meetings, together with other responsible teachers of the given study programme, but also with other teachers who should participate in the teaching of the given study programme. The proposal of the study plan is then submitted by the main responsible teacher of the study programme for discussion to the AFAD Programme Board, which is chaired by the vice-rector for academic affairs. The main responsible teacher of the study programme will consider incorporating the suggestions of the Programme Board and subsequently submit the study plan as part of the study programme description for further study programme approval processes within the internal system of ensuring the quality of education at the AFAD.

b) - The institution compiles the recommended study plans for individual study paths.

Study programme PRINTMAKING AND OTHER MEDIA:

The four-year bachelor's degree in the study programme PRINTMAKING AND OTHER MEDIA begins with studies in the preparatory year and continues in four studios. Students of the 1st year of study complete the two-semester profile course Printmaking Preparatory Course, which, like the studio course, is the most important credit component of the study programme in terms of content, difficulty of output, and time allowance. The teaching of the Preparatory Course is closely connected with the teaching of the profile subject Drawing - Printmaking and the compulsory subject Graphic Techniques and continues with studio teaching as well. While completing the Printmaking Preparatory Course, students clarify their preferences based on specific tasks in which of the three studios - Studio of Free Printmaking, Studio of Illustration and Printmaking, Studio of Free and Color Printmaking - they will continue in the second, three-year phase of the study. With its programme, the studio courses follow after the first year of study, its content and scope are more concentrated, more consistent due to the specifics of the given studio. In these studios, teaching continues according to their programme until the end of the bachelor's degree, with the possibility of transfer, internal and external internship, completion of the Laboratory of Illustration and the Visiting Professor Laboratory. Students have the possibility to replace the studio courses in the 4th-7th year as part of the study programme with the subjects Laboratory of illustration, Visiting Professor Laboratory - 1st degree, Work internship, or complete an internal or foreign study internship. Bachelor's studies are also significantly strengthened by compulsory, compulsory optional and optional subjects that improve drawing and printmaking skills and their overlaps from position to space or object. Part of the study plan is the comprehensive theoretical preparation of students through the compulsory historiographic subjects Visual art in a cultural context, which prepare students in the field of art history, philosophy, aesthetics and culture. Historiographical subjects end with a commission exam after the 4th semester, which means that they are included in the first phase of bachelor's studies. They are followed (3rd - 4th year) by theoretical and interpretive compulsory subjects that develop critical thinking in the studied medium, Problems of visual media (painting-printmaking) and Image analysis (painting-printmaking), which are also a compulsory foundation ending with a state exam. Theoretical teaching is provided by teachers of the Department of Theory and History of Art. In collaboration with invited lecturers and experts from practice, short-term intensive educational courses and workshops are implemented in the teaching, which significantly enrich the study plan with current ways of experimenting and applying creative principles in the context of contemporary art.

Printmaking Preparatory Course is a profile subject of the study programme. The content prepares students for the transition from diverse high school environments to specialisation in the creative field of printmaking. In the study plan, the subject is the Printmaking Preparatory Course at the beginning of the educational process of the study programme PRINTMAKING AND OTHER MEDIA. The result of finishing the course is the students' expanded ability to use printmaking principles in the sensitive selection of colour and material creative means of expression; knowing how to apply the basic graphic principles of the functioning of an artistic symbol in an artistic speech (statement) and construct an artistic artefact. Master basic structural principles and procedures in a graphic image. Students build the visible part of the work with selected material means (paint, pencil, lino,...) and means of expression (line, surface, light, volume, rhythm...), organised by various compositional principles (statics, dynamics, symmetry, asymmetry, addition, division ...). In the form of means of expression and compositional principles, students express the content and statement of the work.

Studio of free printmaking: its content is the creation of a graphic work through the use of a range of printmaking techniques, author's procedures and visual experiments. The studio creates a broad platform for the expression of the students' "micro-story" (with its own content, message, reference, emotions, aesthetic experience,...) in cooperation with the students' individuality, character and originality. The teaching is also based on various social and scientific activities of human activity and leads to the expansion of creative and expressive possibilities of the medium of printmaking itself and ideas in artistic practice. Students build their own authentic story individually and freely, through studio discourse, confrontation and positive uncertainty.

The profile subject Studio of Illustration and Printmaking provides a comprehensive education in the field of illustration and printmaking, with a dominant focus on illustration, in six semesters of the Studio courses (after the previous completion of 2 semesters of a Printmaking Preparatory Course). The 3rd and 4th semesters are focused on mastering basic illustration procedures and the realisation of smaller illustration units. Students get to know the structure and composition of the artistic realisation of the book, and look for the adequacy of the use of the chosen art technique. Teaching is carried out by a combination of semester assignments according to the curriculum and individual consultations so that students complete comprehensive training according to different illustration genres. In parallel with the illustration preparation, the teaching and application of printmaking art techniques takes place. Emphasis is placed on mastering not only genre, professional tasks, but also on the individual, artistic and personal profile of students. The 5th to 7th semester is oriented towards the realisation of larger illustration units and installations, experiment and application of illustration principles in the context of contemporary art. The teaching form itself is a combination of individual consultations and project cooperation of students in smaller groups. Cooperation with the external environment is also used in the form of workshops, group projects, field trips, presentations and also inter-studio cooperation.

Studio of free and colour printmaking - the goal of the profile subject is to achieve in students the ability to create their own art programme, from a conceptual point of view, but also from the point of view of art media and technological realisations. The structure of teaching the subject is built in such a way that students reach this personal artistic autonomy in a gradual way. The teaching principle is built on a basis from simpler to more complex, from more bound to more free, from basics to superstructure. In the first semester, they work on assignments that are based on the study drawing of the subject, then on their artistic shift. In the second semester, they have to respond to the given format, the third year is devoted to the search for artistic themes/problems and technological experiments in the field of classic and digital printmaking, colour, moving image and working with space. The acquired knowledge in terms of creative thinking, technological knowledge and creative experiment completes the fourth year. Teaching in the studio takes place with the adaptation of pedagogical techniques to the individual personalities of the students, the goal is to help them think critically and independently, to work confidently with printmaking techniques, artistic symbols and colours.

The Illustration Laboratory is a subject for covering experimental approaches, marginal positions and exploring new procedures and overlaps in the field of illustration (author's book creation, zine creation, comic creation, illustrations in public space and architecture, creation for the digital environment). The objective of the Illustration Laboratory is the active search and exploration of these territories, active action not only on an interdisciplinary level, but also outwardly. Together with the students of the laboratory, the teacher actively searches for, investigates and criticises a space of an experiment. The results of the laboratory actively support the creation of an alternative illustration production and scene, it displays its results and tries to apply them in an environment outside of the academy. It is possible to enrol in the Illustration Laboratory at the earliest from the completed 5th semester of bachelor's studies (whereby the prerequisite for the study is the mastering of basic artistic procedures) and at the latest until the 7th semester of the overall study in the bachelor's degree, in the 8th semester students return to study the profile subject, in which they want to finish their studies with a final thesis. In the first phase of the study in the Illustration Laboratory, students familiarise themselves with current laboratory topics, analyse together with the teacher their portfolio of artistic and conceptual approaches and explore the possibilities of shifts and experiments in connection with the given topic. In the next stages of the study, students are directed to the development of their own assignment, in more or less conceptual or formal frameworks, so as to develop the main contents of the laboratory. During their studies, students go from solving smaller group tasks, where they initially get acquainted with alternative types of illustration, to larger group or individual laboratory projects. During their studies, they gain experience with others, as the main currents of illustration, gradually developing and expanding their own positions. An important part of the study is also the gradual acquisition of knowledge with real publishing and public presentation of projects (publishing author's zines, comics, illustrated books, in analog or digital forms). Initially, it concerns smaller and partial realisations and simpler forms of publishing, later during their studies they acquire moderately larger and more demanding realisations. During their studies, students participate in workshops designed for students of the Illustration Laboratory across all levels of study so that they can gain knowledge from more experienced students, starting from participation to co-organization itself. In this way, they gain experience not only with cooperation, but also with the organisation of practical research, projects and realisations, which they will apply in future study and practice.

Drawing - Printmaking I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII is a profile subject that is an essential part of all years of the bachelor's study programme and the main supporting subject of studio courses. The content of the subject is figurative drawing, following on from the previous drawing skills of the admitted students. At the beginning of their studies, students are systematically guided to develop auxiliary vision, necessary for the correct creation of a study drawing. Static objects based on three-dimensional anatomical templates are suitable means in the first semester of teaching. In addition to a thorough anatomical rendering, the emphasis here is on the constructive expression of space and volume through drawing. When drawing, aids allowing faster recording in a large format are preferred. After mastering the static model, they gradually move on to drawing a living figure - an act. In the second and third semesters, the teaching is focused on the realistic rendering of the figure, resulting in studies-based drawings. From the fourth semester, students are guided to the procedures on the basis of which their authentic drawing expression is built. In the following semesters, the teaching provides space for the realisation of large-format figurative drawings in a range of different techniques and approaches. In the final phase of the bachelor's study, conditions are created for the realisation of figural drawings based on one's own authentic handwriting.

Printmaking techniques I, II, III, IV, V, VI.: are graded into six semesters of bachelor's studies. Printmaking techniques I.- II. in the first year, students complete basic printmaking techniques with regard to printing from height, depth and surface. By completing the first year, students acquire a practical and theoretical foundation, which is the starting point for their further studies. Students acquire skills in printmaking techniques and processes: lino, dry needle, etching, aquatint, reservage, serigraphy and lithography. Printmaking techniques III.- VI. Students graduate in the second and third year of study. During this period, in addition to developing and consolidating artistic skills, students have the opportunity to creatively use and develop acquired knowledge and skills in the field of creative application of printmaking techniques. By completing the subject, students will gain the ability to implement their designs in individual printmaking printing techniques from height, depth and surface. From general basics to the ability to creatively use acquired knowledge within studio assignments. The teaching of the subject consists of a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, students familiarise with the principles, issues and essence of given printmaking techniques using examples and their analysis. In the practical part, on the basis of the demonstration of the given printing process, they are directly confronted with the whole issue of the practical implementation of their artistic designs into the given technique. The next step is the actual realisation of the creative designs and the subsequent printing, during which all specific problems with the mastery of printmaking techniques and printmaking principles are directly consulted.

Medium paper - book binding: The aim of the course is to master the basic work procedures when working with paper and to master the basic types of book bindings. Knowing the ways of creating book bindings allows students to apply these procedures and experiment with them when creating their own artistic output based on a book object, as well as to understand the nature of the book medium. The subject is a combination of theoretical inputs and practical exercises. It is possible to enrol in the course in the 3rd and 4th semester of bachelor's studies.

Graphic space and object I, II: students will get an overview of works of art that work inventively with printmaking in space, apply the printmaking principle in spatial objects, installations and intermedia projects of today. They apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in the context of their artistic opinion in a project - the design of a printmaking installation or object, with an emphasis on understanding how the placement of the work in space affects printmaking thinking, the use of technologies and materials. The design can be the basis for the realisation of the work within the studio, in an external environment. In the second semester, the subject Graphic space and object II provides the possibility, in addition to the individual creation of students, for their mutual cooperation - interactivity in the form of a creative team. Students create a work - an installation or an object in the broader sense of the medium of printmaking, the overall character of which depends on the direction of the students' group creative communication under the guidance of the teacher. The result of the two-semester subject is the students' ability to sensitively orient themselves in handling creative means, procedures, skills in the context of the expansion of printmaking principles into space and graphic objects.

Bioart and Nature art I, II: The course is intended for third and fourth year students in the bachelor's degree. The goal of the subject Bioart and nature art is to oxygenate creative and graphic thinking with new creative strategies (collaboration with science /bioart/, direct work with nature and its materials /nature art/), current issues (ecological thinking, perception of the human position from the perspective of biology, searching for harmonious, gentle relationship between man and nature, etc.) and technological solutions (use of living materials, cultivation, generation, processuality). The content of the subject consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The first theoretical part (1st semester) contains two thematic units: 1. Bioart, 2. Nature art. The first semester aims to present the theoretical context of these current artistic trends in the form of seminars, lectures, and interviews with invited guests. The second practical part (2nd semester) consists of the realisation of a nature art workshop in the field (nature), creative creation in “nature art” intentions and documentation of the works.

Marketing for artists I, II: In the course of teaching the subject, students will become familiar with the basic vocabulary of marketing in the visual arts. They will become familiar with the historical development of the fine arts market in Slovakia and its current form, the possibilities of financing their own creative activities, and the teaching will also touch on issues related to grant writing. A separate part will be devoted to presentation on the Internet and social networks. During the seminars, students will practise working with the spoken word and written text, in which they develop the ability to verbalise and present themselves as creative people and to be able to introduce themselves and talk about their own work as artists. All this with regard to comprehensibility and clear delivery of the final message to a potential viewer or listener.

Typography for illustrators I, II: The course introduces the issue of typography and its application in graphic design. Font classification, text styling, editing options, removing typographical errors and creating correct print outputs.

Printmaking techniques VII.: Compulsory optional subject Printmaking Techniques VII, is for 4th year students. The course follows Printmaking Techniques I.-VI., develops acquired knowledge, creatively uses technological skills by combining printmaking techniques. It emphasises an individual and author's approach.

From the group of compulsory optional professional subjects, students choose subjects that correspond to the specialisation of the chosen studio. Students of theStudio of Illustration and Printmaking expand their technical and intellectual skills and knowledge focused on working with paper and book construction (subject Medium paper - book binding), students of the Studio of Free and Colour Printmaking connect printmaking with ecological thinking and experiment with natural materials (subject Bioart and Nature art I, II), students of the Studio of Free Printmaking by extending the printmaking principle to space and graphic objects (subject Graphic space and object I, II). The mentioned subjects are prerequisites for the given studios, but if interested, students of other studios of the study programme can also enrol in them and thus expand their arsenal of knowledge. Students choose additional compulsory optional professional subjects without a studio focus and develops in them painting procedures (subject Basics of Painting Techniques), printmaking procedures (subject Printmaking Techniques VII), knowledge of materials and chemicals used in the printmaking medium (subject Basics of Chemistry and Toxicology), typography (subject Typography for illustrators I, II), marketing (subject Marketing for artists I, II), ........(subject Professional workshop). The set of professional subjects ensures the expected level of technological skills for creation in studios and professional mastering of the final bachelor's thesis. In addition to studio courses and professional subjects, the key compulsory theoretical subjects are focused on knowledge of the development of history and theory of art as well as on the specific issues of the study programme: Visual arts in a cultural context I - IV, Introduction to studies I - II, Anatomy I - II , Problems of visual media (painting-printmaking) I – II, Image analysis ((painting-printmaking) I – II, Problems of Slovak visual arts I – II. These complement optional theoretical subjects deepening the discipline with regard to the world of art and culture, improve language preparation in the field of contemporary art and culture and in the field of soft skills such as knowledge of marketing in art and the ability of project and grant activities.Teaching in the field of soft skills is also planned in the form of block teaching and professional workshops for the topicality of information and knowledge from practice.

The PRINTMAKING AND OTHER MEDIA study programme is complemented by a group of compulsory optional subjects, which are divided into professional practical and professional theoretical subjects. These subjects provide a foundation towards media specialisation and at the same time deepen the disciplinarity with respect to the world of art and culture. The content also includes subjects that improve language training in the field of contemporary art and culture and in the field of soft skills such as knowledge of copyright law, marketing in art and the ability of project and grant activities. Teaching in the field of soft skills is also planned in the form of block teaching and professional workshops for the up-to-date information and knowledge from practice.

Optional subjects enrich the range of subjects that, through workshops, courses, field trips and in the form of short-term education, respond dynamically to current topics of visual art by using renowned practitioners from the artistic and cultural environment, or as part of the academy's internationalisation with foreign teachers and practitioners.

Part of the education in the study programme PRINTMAKING AND OTHER MEDIA is the possibility of an internship and supplementary internship in the local and foreign fields, which within the framework of education bring students direct contact with a professional environment in which they acquire practical experience and skills. The internship is also an opportunity for students to gain new professional contacts and connections, as well as theoretical experience with applicability after graduation. At the same time, foreign student mobility is encouraged in the form of internships at foreign partner schools, where they are positively confronted with educational experiences in a different cultural and social environment. Here they also confront their artistic output in the international field and have the opportunity to become part of international artistic and cultural networks.

Part of the education in the PRINTMAKING AND OTHER MEDIA study programme is the option of an internal internship. Students have the opportunity to complete an internal study internship within another AFAD study programme and thus expand their skills and experience, which they are then able to apply in the field of printmaking and illustration in the form of interdisciplinary expansions.

As part of the wider educational process, bachelor's degree students are integrated into ongoing art and research projects at the AFAD in the form of direct application to teaching or through exhibition, publication and other presentation activities, which are also supported by grant systems (especially KEGA – Cultural and Educational Grant Agency of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic) and the presentation of creative and artistic activity (especially FPU - Slovak Art Council).

The decisive evaluation tool for educational results is the periodic semester evaluation at the commission level (the commission consists of teachers of the study programme, teachers from the Department of Theory and History of Art and includes experts from the external environment), which includes a mandatory presentation of the result of the students' studio courses and at the same time their defence, which is followed by a discussion by the committee and also by all participating students and the professional public. Subsequently, the evaluation by the committee and verification by the academy-wide committee consisting of members of the AFAD Pedagogical Board takes place. In the result of semester works of individual students of Studio courses, the partial results of education not only from the profile subject Studio, but also from professional and theoretical subjects in the given semester or in the previous semester of the given study programme are combined. The summaries of the semester evaluation are discussed and analysed at the meetings of the AFAD Pedagogical Board with the VŠVU management, at which the positives and also the negatives of setting the results of the teaching process are identified. Finally, the results of the students' education are publicly accessible to the professional and general public (an academy exhibition in all AFAD buildings, other gallery, museum and exhibition spaces, in public space, in church monuments, or online presentations https://www.digitalnyprieskum.sk or Facebook, Instagram and AFAD website https://www.vsvu.sk/en/events/QXenZJOx/digital-prieskum/). This creates a space for a wider confrontation of the results of education with the external environment.

f) - The institution describes the rules for verification of learning outcomes, students assessment and the possibilities of appealing against the assessment.

Rules for verification of educational outcomes:

The decisive evaluation tool of educational results is the periodic semester evaluation at the committee level (the committee consists of teachers of the study programme, teachers from the Department of Theory and History of Art and includes experts from the external environment as well), which includes a mandatory presentation of the result of the students' Studio courses and at the same time its defence, which is followed by a discussion with the committee and also with all participating students and the professional public. Subsequently, the evaluation by the committee and verification by the school-wide committee consisting of members of the AFAD Pedagogical Board takes place. The school-wide committee is headed by the vice-rector for study affairs and takes place without the participation of students. To the school-wide committee, each head of a specialised studio will present the semester assignments, the course of teaching and the results of the students' works, while highlighting the exceptional results of the students, drawing attention to the poor results of the students and presenting the individual evaluations of the committee (from A to FX). Eventually, the results of the students' education are accessible to the professional and broad public (an exhibition of the whole academy in all AFAD buildings, other gallery and exhibition spaces, or as online presentations https://www.digitalnyprieskum.sk/ or on Facebook, Instagram and the AFAD website https://www.vsvu.sk/sk/udalosti/QXenZJOx/digitalny-prieskum).

The evaluation of study results and the possibility of correction procedures are determined by the AFAD Study Regulations:

https://www.vsvu.sk/en/standard-study/informations-for-students/study-regulations/

The evaluation of the students' study results within the study of the subject is mainly carried out:

continuous control of study results in individual subjects during the teaching part of the study (for example, progress status, partial assignments, completion of a creative workshop, workshop, written tests, assignments for independent work, term papers, report and seminar papers, etc.), specified in more detail in the ILP (information documents of subjects),

As part of the Printmaking and other media study programme, subjects such as Professional Workshop, Professional Field Trip, Supplementary Internship, Introduction to Study and others listed in the ILP are evaluated by passing the course (passed/failed).

c) - Characteristics and extent of distance education applied in the study programme with the assignment to courses. Access, manuals of e-learning portals. Procedures for the transition from contact teaching to distance learning.

The form and method of study is defined in the AFAD Study Regulations (Article 3, Forms and methods of study, points 5 to 8).

The AFAD mostly uses a combined method of education, which is indicated in the ILP (Information Document of Subject), even if the education takes place completely by distance. When changing the method of teaching a subject, its content is discussed in advance with the study programme guarantor and then with the vice-rector for academic affairs at a predetermined time (usually May–June of the previous academic year when the study plan and content of individual ILPs are checked for the next academic year). Complete distance education at the AFAD is implemented by order of the rector, especially in extraordinary situations (for example, when a state of emergency is declared).

d) - Institution partners in providing educational activities for the study programme and the characteristics of their participation.

The given study programme is defined as an academically oriented, artistic type of study, but at the same time the AFAD has created a mechanism for internships and supplementary internships, within which it cooperates with various types of institutions and companies in the local and foreign scene. In addition to permanent partners, cooperation with other partners is currently being approved. Procedures are published on the academy's website and study guide (bedeker).

e) - Characteristics of the possibilities for social, sports, cultural, spiritual and social activities.

The Gallery Medium and public external spaces of the academy serve for cultural and social events at the AFAD. The gallery space is primarily devoted to exhibition activities of students and teachers of the academy, at the same time it serves as a communication space for various types of lectures and discussions, which are also open to the general public, or other social activities of teachers, students, employees, but also graduates of the academy. As part of the open-call mechanism, the gallery spaces of the academy also present exhibition projects of our partners from abroad, or the results of our international cooperation. As part of international cooperation, projects of international significance are periodically prepared (for example, the Month of Photography, Šperk stret, Poster Triennale, Biela noc and others). Another important facility of the AFAD is the Communication and Visualisation Learning Centre in Kremnica, which the academy uses for creative workshops and block education. The learning centre has accommodation facilities, lecture rooms, digital technologies and material resources. The facility is intensively used for workshops, conferences, seminars and meetings with foreign partner educational institutions and stimulates internationalisation, interaction and concentrated creative activity in a group. Thanks to its favourable geographical location, the training centre is used for sports activities in nature as part of creative stays.

f) - Possibilities and conditions for participation of the study programme students in mobilities and internships (indicating contact details), application instructions, rules for recognition of this education.

Students of the Printmaking and Other Media study programme can mainly apply for Erasmus+ mobility programmes (projects KA103 and KA107), CEEPUS, programmes based on bilateral agreements and the possibilities of the National Scholarship Program focused on student, pedagogical and non-pedagogical mobility. In addition to standard mobilities, students also participate in other art and research projects, in which the AFAD creates joint international platforms with selected foreign partners and collaborates on specific artistic, exhibition, presentation, research and innovation tasks and projects. For the mobility of the study programme Printmaking and Other Media and gaining international experience, the AFAD has created a wide network of partnerships in most countries of the European Union, partner countries outside the EU in Europe (Western Balkan countries, Ukraine, Georgia), Asia (China, Japan, India, Israel, Turkey ) and America (USA, Mexico). At the same time, students of the study programme Printmaking and Other Media will have the opportunity to take advantage of a number of international workshops, lectures, seminars, educational courses and meetings of visiting foreign teachers at our school.

Equally important is the opportunity to complete a part of the study with a visiting teacher from abroad as part of the primary education. Foreign students at our academy, who come mainly as part of the Erasmus+ program, will contribute to building contacts and opportunities for future cooperation for our students. Students of the study programme Printmaking and Other Media will have the opportunity to profit from the activities of important international networks of which the AFAD is a part (Cumulus, ELIA). The international presentation activities of students are also supported by embassies of the Slovak Republic and cultural institutes of the Slovak Republic abroad. In addition to study stays, art-research and presentation activities, students of the Printmaking and Other Media study programme have the opportunity to apply for student and graduate internships in selected foreign institutions, companies and specialised or art studios of professional artists within the Erasmus+ program.

All options, instructions and rules are made available and updated in detail on the academy's website, and at the same time they are anchored in the AFAD's internal regulations - the rector's directive: Implementation of the ERASMUS+ program at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava.

9. - Required abilities and admission requirements for the study programme applicants
a) - Required abilities and necessary admission requirements.

Criteria and requirements for applicants are available on the academy's website:

https://www.vsvu.sk/en/admissions/admissions-bachelor-studies/

Criteria and requirements for studying the Printmaking and other media programme available on the web:

https://www.vsvu.sk/en/admissions/admissions-bachelor-studies/printmaking-and-other-media/?v=LRJ8jJO2

AFAD provides for all applicants the possibility of an individual consultation, for which they can sign up online, with the option of choosing from several teachers and doctoral students. AFAD also provides collective consultations and presentations on study options. They take place during open days at the AFAD, or directly by agreement with secondary schools (both face-to-face and remotely).

https://www.vsvu.sk/workspace/media/documents/vp-9-2021-vnu-torny-predpis-o-priji-macom-konani-na-vs-vu.pdf

b) - Admission procedures.

The admission process takes place in two rounds, and applicants are evaluated by a committee consisting of teachers with the artistic and pedagogical titles of professor, associate professor or assistant professor. Teachers from another study programme at the AFAD can also be members of the admissions committee. The admissions committee is appointed by the rector of the academy.

The first round takes place remotely without the participation of applicants. In the first round, the admissions committee evaluates digital portfolios according to the requirements published on the AFAD website:

https://www.vsvu.sk/sk/prijimacie-pohovory/prijimacie-pohovory-bakalarske-studium/grafika-a-ine-media/?v=LRJ8jJO2

The portfolio must contain works in which applicants demonstrate drawing skills in the form of a 1:1 head study and a figure study based on a model, as drawing is the basis of the study. Furthermore, works and a sketchbook focused on the applicants' creativity and other skills, in which their direction, visual and intellectual setting are indicated. A letter of motivation, which, in addition to the applicants' motivation, also presents their ability to express themselves.

Advancing to the second round.

The admissions committee evaluates the works submitted in the first round and determines the group advancing to the second round.

The condition for advancing to the second round is to obtain at least 50% of the maximum possible number of points from the first round. Depending on the situation (e.g. a small number of applicants), the commission can move the advancement limit to 45% of the points earned. Applicants who advance to the second round of the entrance exam are informed and the results published via the academy's website no later than 30 days after the first round. At the same time, advancing applicants receive an invitation to the second round of admission exams.

The second round takes place directly in the academy with the participation of advancing applicants from the 1st round.

The second round of admission exams lasts two days, as follows: The subject of the tasks is a combination of tasks through which applicants demonstrate the ability of compositional, graphic and illustrative vision. Applicants demonstrate creative abilities of artistic vision and creative response to impulses. The content of the tasks and assignments is prepared in such a way that the applicants show their imagination in visual expression. The completed tasks will demonstrate how applicants can express themselves creatively. How they think in context and what skills they can use in their work. In an interview, applicants present their opinions, thereby demonstrating the ability to master the bachelor's degree in the study programme PRINTMAKING AND OTHER MEDIA

The second round is also a test checking critical and visual thinking, reading comprehension, or a general knowledge of visual arts and culture. The oral interview ensures an inclusive form of admissions procedure where the applicant demonstrates his/her knowledge of the field; the interview also includes a discussion of home assignments.

c) - Results of the admission process over the last period.

The results of the admission exams are discussed at the Rector's Advisory Board and recorded. Criteria and requirements for applicants are updated annually and are published on the academy's website. The updating of criteria and requirements is also related to the development of art, to the development of certain technical or technological skills.

The entire procedure and conditions of the admission process are published on the academy's website:

https://www.vsvu.sk/en/admissions/admissions-bachelor-studies/

https://www.vsvu.sk/en/standard-study/bachelor-studies/?v=8X0Q4WO0

Admission exams are:

- Reliable - applicants must demonstrate in their portfolio and during the admission process openness and maturity to study at the bachelor's level of study

- Fair – collective evaluation of the results of admission exams, discussion of applicants' works and discussion with applicants is a guarantee of a fair evaluation of all applicants.

- Transparent – conditions, criteria, methods and procedures for accepting and selecting applicants are published on the academy's website and detailed and updated every year.

AFAD provides the possibility of an individual consultation for each applicant:

https://www.vsvu.sk/en/consultations-for-applicants/?v=LRJ8jJO2
